Wine Event Information and FAQs

1. How much does a tasting cost?

The price for a private, 3-hour event in your home for up to 24 people is $400.

Larger groups are priced on a per-person basis according to size of venue, distance and tasting requirements-just ask for a quote. Invoices for corporate/non-profit events will be provided.

2. What is your cancellation policies?.

Cancellation: Should you need to cancel up to 7 days before your event, you will be fully refunded. Cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the booking date will result in forfeiture of your payment for services.

3. How many people can attend a tasting event?

We prefer 10-12 guests, with a maximum of 24 guests-that keeps things intimate and helps move things along at a comfortable pace. Know that one regular size bottle of wine (750 ml) provides tasting portions for 10-12 guests, so planning and purchasing is based on that. Larger gatherings can also be held-please call to make arrangements.

4. How long is a tasting event and how many different wines will be served?

A typical event lasts about 2.5-3 hours and includes 6 to 8 wines.

5. What about food?

Wine and Cheese are the perfect pairings. We suggest a charcuterie tray for each table of guests.  The food portion is up to you.  We also offer A Wine Themed Graze Table for your special event.  See Pour me a Slice under Themed Tables for inquiries. 

We can also suggest foods you can prepare that pair well with your wines. Just ask!

6. Who selects and buys the wine?

The choice is up to you. We have a selection of wines that we can recommend. If you have your own wines, that works well, too-just let us know in advance.

7. What wines do you recommend?

This is the fun part-you get to decide what you want to serve! Maybe it's your favorite bottles, or maybe you'd like to branch out and try something new. If you're looking for inspiration, we have a list of tasting themes, or you can put together your own list of 6-8 bottles. We will work with you and provide guidance along the way.

8. When do you arrive to set up?

We like to get to the event about an hour before it starts. We will talk with you, check the room, glassware, food (if any), water, dump cups, and address any needs that arise.

Some of the wines will need to be opened early to breathe.

9. How many wine glasses do I need?

The tasting requires 2 glasses in front of each guest. If you have small water bottles and a dump cup, guests can rinse between every 2 wines. Please use glass only, as plastic tends to make the wine taste different. If you don't have enough glasses, you can contact your favorite local rental company or consider purchasing additional glasses (here are some affordable stemless and stemmed glasses). Wine With Tim also has stemless wine glasses for rent. And all the glasses don't have to match

10. Additional services/costs:

Pickup/Delivery: Wine pickup and delivery is available for $50. Please let us know in advance if you would like this service.

Glassware rental from Wine With Tim: We have a supply of glassware for up to 24 guests. The rental/cleaning fee is $1.00 per glass. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to rent glassware.
